Attended funeral (funeral director’s charges only)

A funeral where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.

• Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements — £999
• Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles) into the funeral director’s care during office hours — £230
• Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities (Chapel of Rest) — £320
• Providing a suitable coffin — wood-effect veneer — £495
• Viewing by appointment during office hours where requested — £0
• Taking the deceased person direct to the agreed cemetery or crematorium (normally within 20 miles) in a hearse or other appropriate vehicle — £350

Unattended funeral

• Burial (funeral director’s charges only) — POA
• Cremation (funeral director’s charges plus the cremation fee) — £1,300

Fees you must pay

• Burial fee for attended or unattended burial — local typical cost: POA (depends on cemetery and circumstances)
• Cremation fee for an attended cremation — typical local cost: £1,120
